About Us

The Resilience, Adversity, and Childhood Trauma (ReACT) Research Lab is directed by Dr. Rachel Langevin. We seek to better understand issues surrounding children’s experiences of adversity, in particular maltreatment, and how this affects their development and mental health. Our focus is on intergenerational cycles of family violence and child maltreatment.  The aim of our studies is to identify and understand the role of psychosocial risk and protective factors that are involved in cycles of violence, as well as factors that can be targeted to break these cycles and ensure children’s healthy developmental trajectories.
